Biography
Martin Ravn is a photographer whose work is defined by a passion for mood, atmosphere, and emotional storytelling. Educated at the Danish School of Photography in Viborg, where he graduated in 2010 with a specialization in technical architectural photography, Martin’s early career was marked by a strong focus on commercial work. His journey began even earlier, with his first cover shoot in 2004, setting the stage for a great run in some of the industry’s advertising studios.
Over the years, Martin photographed an extraordinary range of subjects, from archaeological artifacts to fashion editorials, each project an exploration of precision and creativity. However, after years of building a career in the commercial world, Martin shifted his focus. Today, his work has evolved beyond the confines of commercial assignments, allowing him to pursue more personal, artistic endeavors.
In recent years, Martin has embraced a more authentic approach to many of his projects, stripping away the excess to focus on raw emotion and honest storytelling. This shift allows him to capture the true essence of his subjects in a way that feels intimate and real. His current projects include art pieces, feature work and book publications, where his ability to evoke feeling through imagery takes center stage. Having moved away from the commercial studio environment, Martin’s focus is now firmly on projects that resonate with his creative spirit, offering him the freedom to tell visual stories that transcend the ordinary.
Martin is currently based in Aarhus, Denmark.
